Chicken Salad

On our way home from school today, (which was FUNtastic - incase you were wondering) I asked what the Sassy's wanted to eat for dinner. Both said, "CHICKEN SALAD", (not the typical as you would assume)... our chicken salad consists of a hodge podge of things from the pantry and refrigerator. The Sassy's get to make their own salad... here's what their salads consisted of (both ended up making exactly the same)...
  • Chicken
  • Salad (iceberg, romaine, and spinach)
  • black olives
  • mandarin oranges
  • clementine oranges
  • blueberries
  • raisins
  • crunched up bacon
The finale to top this off was RANCH DRESSING (fat free ranch but they don't know the difference because I always put tape over the label). The Sassy's always get help from me doing this as well, it's not that they are not trusted but we had an incident a few weeks ago where an ENTIRE bottle of ranch dressing went onto 1 salad... so mommy always helps aid in assessing how much would be considered "appropriate" for that size salad.

The Sassy's loved their salad! They ate the entire thing and asked for 2nds! LOVE dinner nights like this!

Quick Update:
Today the littlest Sassy lost her 2nd tooth! O.M.Goodness! It doesn't seem possible that 2 teeth can be lost already... kinda makes me sad but the joy on her face and the immediate "I did it all by myself!" was perfectly amazing... all these big milestones keep occurring and too soon there will be very few milestones left to reach. Maybe Mommy will just have to make up a few of my own milestones in order to make myself feel better and keep them little a weensie bit longer... the life of a mommy is bitter sweet. We want them to reach these milestones and be independent, brilliant, loving people... but we also want them to need us a little bit more, hug us and snuggle us for just a few moments longer... I hope my moments of snuggling never end!
