As 2012 comes to an end it really is one of those things that makes me realize how quickly the time passes. I cannot believe that 2013 is only a matter of hours away... 7 to be exact. This year has brought us a lot of happy, sad and in between moments. As we reflect back it seems that mostly the happy times stand out... getting to see Uncle Lou... spending time with our family and friends. New experiences that brought us excitement too. I asked the girlies what their New Years Resolutions are here's the tally.
Kailee: I'm gonna try and clean up after myself every day this new coming year.
Gracie: I'm gonna try and do the clothes with out fighting (clarify: fold their laundry & put away) in 2013.
Daddy: No, I don't have any. (Apparently daddy's perfect already!)
Mommy: Walk without crutches! And use my upset mommy voice less and my happy mommy voice more.
So cute when I asked Kailee if she knew what a "resolution" was she said, "It's a War." Gracie simply said, "I don't know," and went back to her Lego Friends. As I'm typing this I can hear Kailee playing ever so sweetly in the playroom. Keyboard on a Christmas beat, caroling away. This has been a fantastic Christmas break. You both played so sweetly, we seen family, we ate good food and played with your toys every day.
Today you played outside in the snow, made a snowman, complete with a carrot nose (that Grace ate), hat and scarf! When your cheeks were rosy from Old Man's Winter brr... you came inside to enjoy some hot cocoa complete with whip cream!
Doing these blogs have really been an awesome fun way to reflect back upon our year. I will continue to blog into 2013 but I'm not sure I will do a 365. Who knows... it has held me accountable for days that I didn't want to blog which has been helpful. Plus I know the little hoolies love it! I cannot wait to print the 365+1 and our year blog! It's funny I didn't really think I would enjoy being held accountable to blog every day but it turns out even the smallest things are the biggest of memories. I do love that. Maybe I will continue the 365... and just do only pictures... it should get easier I hope as in a few weeks I should be crutch free!!
We ended the year with yummy shrimp scampi with homemade garlic cheese toast by chef daddy.
A little bubbly, popcorn and UNO Attack -- "just like how the fancy ladies do it in a casino".
May the New Year be Happy, Healthy, full of Wealth and Good Cheer!! XoXo!!!
