Summer Days 79-84

Summer Day 79: Sunday, 8/26: We are Cedar Point Bound! Our ETT was 8 a.m. but we actually got on the road at 9 a.m. and we made it to destination, RELAXATION AKA John Arnold's Tiki Houses at 3 p.m. - that included a stop along the way for gas and lunch! Not too shabby!! These 3 hoolies did a great job traveling. They played D.S.'s, watched movies and drew! Bryan drove us by Cedar Point so we could get the full effect of seeing the rides! We could even see a couple of the rides from the house we were renting!! We grocery shopped and hit the bed time "early" so we would feel refreshed for our big day tomorrow!

Summer Day 80: Monday, 8/27: We didn't get to take any pictures this day... which was day 1 of 2 because it rained... it rained from the time we woke up until 5 p.m.... so in the midst of rain since it was warmer we did Soak City for a few hours. This involved swimming in the pools, doing the wave pool and playing on some of the fun little kid type water slides. Then in the afternoon we managed to get on a few rides. You got to explore Camp Snoopy and Planet Snoopy. Daddy bought you each a poncho so you would stay warm and dry since we were all dried off from our Soak City/rain morning. Then daddy and Mr. Bryan took you on a few of those kids; like the tea cups, tilt-a-whirl, jr. gemini while mommy & Miss Dody did big rides with the big boys. We then went on some rides as a family; daddy and I did the Woodstock Express with you, then we did the tilt-a-whirl (where daddy nearly got sick) and we watched you do the jr. gemini - you little dare devils put your arms up - * you get that from mommy. ;) We ended our day late...late-late... we sort of didn't know that Soak City closed at 7 p.m. and our items were in there! So, while daddy was waiting for someone to get our things, we went back to the 'Nook and fed you hotdogs for dinner. With full bellies and smiles on your tired faces you got cozy and told me about your day of fun.

Summer Day 81: Tuesday, 8/28: When I opened my eyes at 4:45 a.m. immediately I knew it was going to be a beautiful day; the sun was just peaking over the horizon and the sky was this orangey-pink color. It made nearly a rainbow of colors as it peaked through the curtain onto the wall. We ate breakfast... and made our way to the park by 10 a.m. Excitement filled your bellies! Enjoying Cedar Point for the first time with the sun kissing our cheeks felt so good!... but man was it HOT! There are MANY pictures to share... ready... get set... PICTURES!

Summer Day 82: Wednesday, 8/29: Now we're home bound... we traveled home and it was a quiet, tiring ride... we were all exhausted. Some of us napped, some sat quietly, some just played on the D.S.'s. There were no pictures taken as exhausted consumed mommy. Kailee was so tired she was sleeping by 5:30 p.m.

Summer Day 83: Thursday, 8/30: Today was spent recuperating... Kailee slept in until 7 a.m. (That was 13 1/2 hours of sleep.) We have been unpacking, trying to get things organized and put back into place. Gg and mommy swam in the pool for a while. We have had a lot of fun looking through all the pictures from Cedar Point too. Mommy cleaned her bedroom and closet and you hoolies made a mess of your playroom and bedroom.

Summer Day 84: Friday, 8/31: So far today we have put away clothes and played with Barbies! Before we knew it it was 1 p.m.! We had the Barbies set up all around the playroom. It was fun set up bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, kitchen & dining room for the Barbies. You hoolies had so much fun! Now I'm trying to get you to put things away that you are not using but that's not working out well... oh well! Life is too short to not play while we can. I love days like this!!

It just dawned on me that this is our last weekend of Summer break. :( It's starting out well though, warm, fun and lots of daddy time! Daddy is in the pool with you as I type this. It's so cute to hear your sweet sounds of laughter fill the back yard. Daddy is so impressed with the little fish that you both have become! You swim under water for nearly the whole length of the pool, which is impressive for children who wouldn't put their faces in the water last summer. To think 84 days ago I was writing; the first day of Summer Break and now we're coming to the close of it all.
