Summer Days 71-75

Summer Day 71: Saturday, 8/18: Today we spent the day putzing around the house. We swam briefly in the pool but because it was not overly warm we decided that getting warm and cozy sounded much nicer. So we came inside and watched Puss n Boots with daddy. We played a few games of War then you both had decided you wanted to play with the Lalaloopsy dolls and off you went to play for the rest of the day. Daddy and I had to force you out to eat dinner and converse with us... it's okay we didn't take it personally we sat outside the playroom and listened to you play for the longest time... it's so nice to hear those high pitched voices pretending sweetly together.

Summer Day 72: Sunday, 8/19: This morning you went with daddy to church. Mommy did not sleep a wink last night... I took benadryl that made me drowsy but not enough to let me rest because of my leg. So your daddy day included gallivanting off to church, then ice cream, then to Home Depot where you got a sucker and then you ended up at Walmart. (All the while mommy was sleeping off and on until 2 p.m. when you came home.) It was a peaceful afternoon for us which was very nice! We ended up in the pool for a nice little evening swim; the water was pretty warm which was very nice!

Summer Day 73: Monday, 8/20: It was a Grandma Debbie Day! Today you went over to Gramma & Grampa Matelski's house with Abby Doo for the night because Mommy had her Dr. Rubert knee appointment. You started your Gramma Deb time with a trip to the library; you walked down there with Uncle Josh, Jordy, Gramma, and Abby Doo. You both checked out books and from what I understand you spent a couple hours being entertained. Then you all decided it was too far to walk back to Gramma's so you walked over to Grampa's work -- thank goodness Grampa's work is only a stone's throw away from the library-- and stole his truck! (Then you all had to go pick him up from work!) Then you three girlies went back to Gramma's and Uncle Josh took Jordy home for some down time. You girlies spent the afternoon and evening playing together nicely... there was some iCarly watching, some icecream sundae making... (3 for Kailee I understand -- oh no!) and lots of story telling. Everyone was sleeping by 9 p.m.!! Now... mommy's appointment went okay -- I do have to have 1 more surgery (this will be the last) and it will be October 11, maybe sooner but chances are slim.

Summer Day 74: Tuesday, 8/21: Um well, today I came over to Gramma's to pick you up and neither of you wanted to leave! :( I'm glad you have fun with Gramma but miss you tremendously!! So, after some pouty looks and tears and a few extra hours of Gramma playing you hoolies came home with me. We played in the pool for an hour... it felt cold at first but then it felt warmer as we were in there a while. Then we came inside you helped me make your "school morning schedules" which we are going to laminate (I hope) and use as our guide in the mornings to make sure you both are completing the tasks needed to be ready for school. It's pretty easy and I think you can check off the items as you complete them. This should help us stay organized in the mornings and not forget things like tooth brushing (G!) We are going to start this routine when we come back from Cedar Point next week... our Cedar Point trip is in 4 days!!

Summer Day 75: Wednesday, 8/22: Speaking of Cedar Point... tonight we're going over to the Conklin's house to look over the "nook" that we are riding in. It should be lots of fun! I cannot wait to see what the inside of the "nook" looks like! It should be roomier than taking a car but cozy still. Our morning has been a bit quiet; we watched Craft Wars and ate breakfast kinda late - 10'ish! That will have to be adjusted so your little bodies will want to have breakfast earlier on school mornings... which is coming all too soon! We only have 13 days left of our Summer. 13! Where has the time gone??? When I started the Summer Days blogging my hope was to make sure the summer didn't go by too fast... yet here we are approaching the end of August feeling like the days are slipping away still... apparently there is never "enough" time with you this little. I love Summer because I get you all to myself like I did before you started school. I love that I can kiss you and snuggle you anytime I want during the day...  I'm cherishing every moment with you both!
P.S. We spent 2 hours in the pool this afternoon! 12:30-2:30... the water wasn't overly warm and the wind was whipping but it was so much fun playing Marco Polo with you both... having swimming contests and of course just "relaxin" on the pool floaty. LIFE IS GOOD!

Just a couple pictures from Tuesday...

A few Wednesday Pictures:

PJ cozy with zhu zhu's... just when I consider donating them they start playing with them for hours again.

People think I'm nuts having little totes full of their different little toys... but they play with them all and their imaginations are so worth the clutter... one day I won't have it anymore and I will miss it tremendously!

It's a counting money game... lots of fun can ya tell?

Battle Ship Math!

The game quickly went a rye when battle ships were being bombed! Eeks!

This is a picture of our morning school schedules that we made on Tuesday.
