Price Is Right and Popsicles

Today I received the first call of the school year, saying Kailee has a belly ache and sore throat. After a very quick, "I'll be right there".  I immediately realized before she even seen me walking into the office that this is more of a "cough-cough, wink-wink, I'm sick" than it is a "too sick" to be at school issue. I briefly wondered if I should just make her go back to class. But, when I looked into those big blue eyes staring at me, she pierced my heart and I brought her home. I made her take medicine -- the good horrible tasting bubblegum kind that NOBODY likes. I made her put her jammies on and get her pillow and bear bear to lay on the couch. So, we'll shirk today and get back to work tomorrow. My magic mommy senses tell me; The Price is Right and popsicles are in our near future.
